The Benelux Economic Union involves an
intergovernmental cooperation.
Decisions are taken unanimously. They only become legally valid after having
been incorporated into national law.
The Treaty establishing the Benelux Economic Union, signed on 3 February
1958, describes the organisation and the legal instruments.
